The Carlebach Foundation
The Carlebach Foundation is the official body sanctioned by the Carlebach family to preserve and disseminate the teachings of Reb Shlomo Carlebach. Pursuant to the goals of the foundation is reaching out to a diversified audience and presenting the multiple sides of the man that many are not yet familiar with.
Reb Shlomo was indeed a pioneer of outreach and of unconditional acceptance of all Jews. He initiated a brand of Judaism that encapsulates love and promulgates the joy within practice.
The Foundation which is a registered Amuta (charity) in Israel was formed just after Reb Shlomo’s Death in 1994. It is committed to preserving and promoting his legacy – his music, teachings and message. The Foundation has been quite successful in these endeavours by organising Annual Concert, Annual Kol Chevra Publications and bring out various albums and more recently published the 1st of 3 books of Reb Shlomo Torah – Even Shlomo and the Soul of Chanukah.
This success was achieved by a dedicated team of volunteers, without pay and there has not been any co-ordinated sustainable fund raising carried out.
